My Letter to Baby K

Tomorrow you will be considered full term, which means you are allowed to come out!  Your dad and I have been waiting for you for several years.  All of the waiting, hundreds of fertility injections and tears will all be worth it when we get to hold you in our arms for the first time.  Since the moment we found out I was pregnant with you, we have talked about what/who you would look like and dreaming about what you would be like.  I hope that you have your daddy’s blue eyes and laid back personality.  We all hope that you have my hair and not the Fender balding gene.  HA!  So many people have prayed for you that I can’t even count the number.  I can’t wait for the moment when we see your beautiful face and hear your sweet cry for the first time.

We are both named after one of the most wonderful women in this world, my grandmother.  My prayer is that you will grow up and be as sweet, loving and caring as she is.  I can’t wait to see you in your daddy’s arms for the first time.  I remember the look on his face when he felt you move in my belly and can’t wait to see what his face looks like as he holds his sweet daughter for the first time.  I can’t wait for your grandparents to meet you for the first time.  You are the first for my parents, which make you extra special to them.  I can’t wait for you to meet your god-sister, Remi, for the first time.  To have both of my favorite girls together for the first time will definitely be a special moment.

Your father and I are already so proud of you and can’t wait to see what you accomplish in this life.  The world isn’t always a wonderful place, but I know that your smile will make it even better.  We will love you until our last breath and thank God every day for you.  We hope that these last few weeks go by quickly, so you can be here with us.  We promise to love you and take care of you for the rest of your life.  We love you so much already and can’t wait to meet you!

All of our love forever,

Mom and Dad

Nursery Reveal

I have been begging my husband for weeks to put the crib together.  We were having new carpet installed, therefore he wanted to wait until that was complete before setting up baby girl's nursery.  I understand the logic, but that doesn't mean I wasn't getting impatient about it.  HA!  The carpet was installed on Friday, and we spent all weekend getting everything put back into place and getting her nursery setup.  After many trips (by the husband) up and down the stairs and 8 loads of laundry (by yours truly) her nursery is finally complete!  It makes me feel a little less stressed to know she has a place to sleep and clothes to wear upon her arrival.  I would like to introduce you to Baby Fender's new room - my favorite room in the house!

The pink pillow was made by our goddaughter, Remi

The monkey clock was also made by our goddaughter, Remi

Girl monkey is worried that boy monkey is going to steal her banana!  HA!

And because this could be my last post before she gets here, I wanted to share a couple of pictures of my furry babies with you.

They are chair stealers when I'm not looking

They had a long day...

Have a great week everyone!

35 Weeks

Size of Baby? Coconut - Approximately 5.8 lbs

Maternity Clothes?  Yes – except for when I'm lounging around the house

Weight Gain?  Somewhere between 15-18 lbs.

Gender? GIRL!!

Sleep?  This is getting worse and worse.  Some nights I do sleep okay but other nights I feel like I toss and turn all night.  I guess my body is just prepping for baby girl’s arrival.

Movement?  She has started to slow down slightly but when she does move she makes as much room for herself as possible.  She doesn’t take into consideration my comfort level at all when she is ready to move around.  HA!

Cravings?  Cucumbers – weird I know!

What I miss?  Being able to walk up a flight of stairs without feeling out of breath and a glass of wine.

Symptoms?  Still a lot of moodiness and irritability.  Apparently I have started some serious nesting – or at least that is what my husband tells me.  Just trying to get everything clean and ready for the baby’s arrival, which isn’t easy with my two indoor horses…I mean Great Danes.

Best moment of the week? Seeing Baby Girl during our last ultrasound and hearing her heartbeat.  I have a feeling she is going to be quite a large baby.  We also finished her nursery, which makes me a lot less stressed as well as anxious for her arrival!

Baby Girl's Big Ole Head!

Bad selfie and probably the last picture I will take of myself
