RECAP

Sorry I have been absent from my blog for a couple of weeks.  It seems like time has flown by the last few weeks.  The first weekend in May, we headed up to Pittsburgh with my parents for a weekend full of running and family fun!  On Saturday, May 5th Team RSG1 (Remi Savioz Glut1 Foundation) walked the UPMC Sports Medicine/UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh 5K Run.  We took turns pushing Remi in her stroller.  She was quite a demanding rider and kept yelling “faster, faster!”  HA!  The officials let Remi get out of the stroller right before the finish line in order for her to walk across all on her own.  It was an amazing, emotional experience that I will never forget.

On Sunday, I ran and completed the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Half Marathon.  Yes, you read that correctly.  I finished my first HALF MARATHON!  It had been a really long time since I felt the feeling of accomplishment and not failure.  I am really proud of myself and so glad that I stuck with and did it.  I want to walk around with my medal all of the time, but I think my husband might be a little embarrassed by that!  I haven’t decided if I will torture myself and do another one again, but I am happy I finished and did it all for a great cause.

Yep - ran across that bridge

After the race, we got to spend some time with my favorite people in downtown Pittsburgh!

Back on the homefront, my adorable nephew graduated from preschool.  I can't believe that time has gone by so quickly.  I remember meeting him for the first time when he was only 2 months old.  He was most certainly the cutest graduate there!

Well that's about all of the Fender happenings for now.  I hope you all have a great week!!

Happy Mother's Day (a week late!)

To the one who has been there since before my first breathe.  To the one who is always there to listen and give me advice.  To my best friend and role model.  To the woman who inspires me to strive to do better.  To the one that wiped away my tears and put a Band-Aid over my cuts and scrapes.  To the sweetest, most loving and giving woman I know.  To the woman who brought me into this world…
Happy Mother’s Day to MY MOM!  I love you more than anything and feel so lucky to have you as my mom.  I hope that I can be as good of a mother one day as you have been to me.  I love you!
