Baby K's Last Couple of Months (in Pictures)

Those lips!

That can't be comfortable

The girls were very into the football games

I got this Mom!

Three of my favorite people on the planet

Time with our BFFs

A couple of weeks ago, we went to the apple orchard with our BFFs.  All of us have such a good time together - even the babies were having fun!  We are so thankful to have such awesome friends in our life to share the parenthood journey with!  We can't wait for more fun times and trips to come!

Those blue eyes on K's BFF are to die for!

We love these 3!

Reflection

This time of year is always the hardest for me.  It is a time that I reflect on the past couple of years and all of the things we have been through.  It is a time where I am sad but thankful how my life has turned out.  It is a time of year that gets easier with time, but I will always remember.

Yesterday would have been my sweet Addison's 5th birthday.  There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss her.  I know it is weird to non-animal lovers to understand this concept, but she was our first baby.  She was the most lovable dog on the planet.  Addison could sense when I needed her to just cuddle with me.  She was sweet and goofy at the same time.  She made bad days seems a little bit better with her unconditional love.

One of the hardest days on my life was when we had to say goodbye to her.  Time heals all wounds, but a piece of my heart died the day we said goodbye.

When I found out I was pregnant a few weeks after Addison passed away, I had so many emotions flowing through me.  It felt like maybe she had given up her seat in the car for our baby, and her passing seemed to make some sense.  The hubs and I talked about how her tail (that was like a whip) wouldn't have been the best thing for a child, so maybe it was all working out how it was supposed to.

This week would have also been our first babies' first birthday.  I remember the feeling of some much grief and loss when I found out we had lost them.  It's a feeling that only those who have been in the same shoes can ever understand.  At the time, I was angry, sad, confused and so much more.  I wondered why this was so hard for us but so easy for others.  In that moment, life wasn't fair.  What I didn't see at the time was how much joy and happiness would be in my future.

If I hadn't of miscarried, we never would have our beautiful daughter with us today.  I wouldn't get to wake up to this face every day:

I can't imagine our life without Kearington now.  Everything seems so much better because of her.  It was so difficult to see all of that in the moment.  I didn't see the plan that God had for us during the bad times.  As hard as it was to go through it, I am so thankful I did because now I get to experience the best things that life can give me.  I'm glad that our plan was in His hands, because He ALWAYS knows what we need and when we need it.  I will always look back on this week every year to see where and how far we have come.  I will always remember the pain that we went through, but I am so thankful for the joy that we have now.

And because I love her and think she is cute, here are a few more pictures of my little peanut :)

My child is weird and actually likes the doctor's office

The love I have for these two is indescribable

Kearington - Month 3

Time is flying by, and I am NOT a fan!  Baby K just keeps growing and changing every day.  She is definitely getting quite the personality and is a little ham most of the time.  The hubs and I are very lucky, because she really is the best baby.  I wish I could keep her little forever, but we are enjoying every moment with her!  Pictures are little more difficult now since she constantly moves around and has her hands in her mouth ALL OF THE TIME!

She is starting to like her little chair

One of the only pictures I could get without her hands in her mouth

Baby K,

I always think it is impossible for us to love you more and more every day, but we do!  Thank you for making our lives complete and full of joy.  We love you more than any words could say.

When one door closes...

Friday was my last day at work.  It was definitely a bittersweet day.  I have mixed feelings about it – on one hand, how can I not be excited to stay home with this face all day?!

On the other hand, work has been a huge part of my life for the last 5 years.  I don’t adapt to change well…in fact I hate change.  BUT I have learned that sometimes life gives you good changes – like the birth of our baby girl.  That has been the largest change in my life, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
As I got in my car on Friday, tears rolled down my eyes as I was closing a chapter in my life that I didn’t think would close for a long time.  I was walking away from my daily routine that I have known for the last five years.  I was walking away from great customers who I had gotten to work with and to know very well over the last several years.  But most importantly, I was walking away from my co-worker and best friend.  We have worked together since May 2008 and this was the last day we would have together (at least in this capacity).  That was the hardest part for me.
She has been through so many things with me – reminiscing over fun vacations, venting over stressful days, finding out that I would have to go through IVF, going through IVF and failing, the loss of my fur baby, the extreme sadness and anger of a miscarriage, finding out that I was pregnant again and most importantly, the birth of my daughter.  So many memories and experiences I have had, she has been there to help me get through it.  Not only is she my best friend but she is my sister.  She is the hardest part about walking away from my job.
As hard and scary as it is to start a new chapter, I am looking forward to the future.  I get to stay home and be a full time mom to my daughter.  What greater gift is that?  I get to meet my former co-worker for lunch in a stress-free environment.  I get to take my daughter on walks in the park during the day.  I get to focus on working out and becoming healthier not only for me but for my baby girl and husband.  So many opportunities lie ahead of me.  I know everything happens for a reason, and I am looking forward to my new future and all of the good things to come!

Baby K's Second Month in Pictures

Meeting GiGi for the first time

Still loves being in her Mamaroo

Finally meeting Papaw (my grandfather) for the first time

I walked out of the room for a minute, came back and where'd she go?!

Mom said no and KayKay or Mema weren't there to say yes

We celebrated our first Father's Day - that was one happy daddy!

July 4th celebrations with friends

I could kiss those lips all day!

Kearington - Month 2

Sorry this post is a couple of weeks late!  It has been crazy busy around our house the last few weeks.  Baby K has definitely changed A LOT this month.  She smiles all of the time now and is getting quite the little personality.  She also rolled from her stomach to her back for the first time this month.  She is growing way too fast, and I'm not sure I like it at all.

She moves so much it is hard to get her to sit still for pictures

She's still not fond of the little chair!  HA!

Oh Baby K - how much we love to watch you change so much every day and come into your personality.  We are having so much fun with you and can't imagine our lives without you now.  Your daddy and I love you so much and can't wait for all of the fun times we will continue to have together!
